Kamaro'an is an independent design studio based in Taiwan, known for its commitment to traditional craftsmanship and sustainable production. Nestled in Hualien, near the Pangcah Indigenous community, the studio draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape of mountains and sea. Kamaro'an emphasizes the use of natural, responsibly sourced materials. This includes utilizing vegetable-tanned leather certified by the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana and handwoven, durable cotton fabrics dyed with earthy tones derived from native plants such as Shoulang yam, old betel nuts, and the Fukugi tree. Each item reflects a dedication to quality and timeless design, handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail in their studio.
Kamaro'an’s mission is not only to create unique, high-quality products but also to celebrate cultural heritage and promote sustainability. By collaborating with local artisans, they foster a transparent and ethical production process, ensuring that each piece carries both the story of its materials and the skill of its maker.
