CHAMULA is more than a shoe brand, it's a living archive of Mexican craftsmanship. During a journey through rural Mexico in the 1990s, designer Yuki Matsuda discovered the hand-woven Huarache tradition of the Michoacán region and knew it deserved a global stage. Since then, CHAMULA has worked closely with local artisans who craft each pair using the same traditional tools and techniques passed down through generations.
Every shoe is made entirely by hand from 100% organically vegetable-tanned leather, hand-cut, hand-dyed, and woven into shape with meticulous care. The newest models with EVA soles provide flexibility and cushioning without compromising the handcrafted aesthetic. Available exclusively at Ooid, CHAMULA bridges internationally admired design language with the soul of a small, dedicated atelier rooted in Mexico.
